A few things to think of when getting ready to leave for an International running event are not always the things right in front of you.
The easy things to remember are your shoes, shorts or running tights, short sleeve or long sleeve running shirts, socks, etc., but often times it’s the minor things that lead to major issues.
Make a list of the things you need for your regular runs and check them off as you pack:
- Do I train with a specific drink? Am I able to get that drink where I’m going to?
- Are my shoes in good shape? If I need new shoes I should be buying them locally and getting a few runs in before using them in a long race.
- Do I train with a Garmin watch or other distance recording device? Can I use outside of where I live or does it cost more money to use it correctly?
These are a few things to think of when getting ready to pack.
